About Yau Apps
We are a small, independent team in Hong Kong. We make apps for everyday life: the kind you open ten times a day and never want to think about.
Why we started
Too many everyday apps have become hard to use: small text, pop-up ads, sign-up screens, and settings hidden three menus deep. We think a bus app should simply tell you when your bus is coming. So we built one.
The name
"Yau" comes from 有, Cantonese for "there is" or "to have", as in 有巴士: "there is a bus". It is the feeling we want every app to give you: what you need is there, and it works.
How we work
We start from a real, everyday problem, keep the app as simple as it can be, and test it on real phones, at the biggest text sizes, in all three languages.
Our apps use official open data from the Hong Kong Government wherever it exists, so the information is the same as the source.
Independent
Yau Apps is not part of any bus company, the MTR or the Government, and we are not paid to show anyone's content.
